Bunny therapy

Pet therapy is used to help persons recover and cope from chronic illness, especially depression and anxiety. Studies show that emotional support animals can reduce blood pressure and release endorphins that improve mood. It has also been shown to improve self confidence and encourage communication. Many times learning about something new can create bonds and spark conversation. We received many reports that our visits have helped reduce stress and improve overall mood that lasts far after we’ve left.

Rodents

Also ask about our rodent therapy! Did you know that mice and rats are very intelligent and social creatures? They love hanging out with people and will do tricks for treats! No only are they fun to watch but they also love to snuggle. Meet out ratatouilles and mini mice on our Instagram and Facebook pages.

Programs

Our program visits typically last an hour long. We bring an educational video and handouts about Rabbits; their secret language, needs and special care.  Did you know that the smallest domesticated rabbit only reaches 1.5-2lbs and the biggest can get to be 13-14lbs!? These visits are supervised by one of our team members and the safety of both people and animals is always taken into consideration. We factor all of this into the rabbits and the set ups that we bring.

Private sessions

We do in-home visits with small groups, all persons must be over the age of 9 years old. For the safety of our rabbits we do not do birthday parties. Recommended group size is between 3-4 people. Sessions typically last an hour and we bring paper handouts including fun facts about rabbits and their care. These meetings are meant to support socialization, education and mental health. A team member will be available to ensure safety of all living things for the duration of the meeting.

Areas we travel

Long car rides can be stressful for rabbits, for this reason we do not travel more than an hour from our Rabbitry. Our travel area includes Rhode Island parts of Massachusetts and Connecticut.

4

Compensation

Mental health is something we support greatly. We have limited therapy sessions available throughout the year but we do not charge programs any monetary means for this service. Private sessions are simply charged a travel fee which varies depending on distance and cost of gasoline.
